Sleeping Jelly Fish

The Vatersay sky
hugs reflections
of sleeping jelly fish
as oyster catchers
and corn crakes
kiss the sun

Shadows
of five sisters
with rosy apple faces
stroll across the sand
into a new world
picking up cockles
from Traigh Mhor

Ducks float upon the water
catching midges
in the midday sun
as waves of sand swirl
around buttercup meadows

Hi Catherine, just read your poem and thoroughly enjoyed it. I live in Uidh in Vatersay and would love to hear more about you and who the five sisters are.
