Old Portobello Prom

All spent up on the penny slots
after a ride on the big wheel
watching the Skylark
sailing out to sea

Sand between toes
candy floss sticking    
to rosy apple faces
holding hands
and linking arms
along the Prom
on a sunny kind of
do as you please day …

Now all the colours are washed away
